Another one of his disciples, Andrew, who was Simon Peter's brother, said,
"There is a boy here who has five loaves of barley bread and two fish. But they will certainly not be enough for all these people." "Make the people sit down," Jesus told them. (There was a lot of grass there.) So all the people sat down; there were about five thousand men. Jesus took the bread, gave thanks to God, and distributed it to the people who were sitting there. He did the same with the fish, and they all had as much as they wanted. When they were all full, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces left over;
let us not waste a bit." John 6:8-12
a Warm welcome to all of my family, especially my brother, Pieter, who stirred this message in my heart again, friends and also all the followers on twitter (@Grensbreker).
Today I am reflecting on the 19th Waterproof Principle - Let Nothing go to Waste.
This specific Life Principle is a diamond I discovered in God's Word at one of the lowest points in my life.
In a day when my thoughts turn direction and I end up visiting that dark, empty place, the Spirit of God, in His faithfulness, reminds me of this. ...Thank you Father...for the pick me up... Allow Him to Pick you up today, with this Word.
My life was, priority-wise, not close to any kind of order. I knew there was chaos, but I did not know how to fix it. Like that one drawer or cupboard you have in your house, the one you stuff everything and anything into when guests come to visit and you want the place to look neat?..Life was just moving too fast for me. That which had to be top, was bottom...nothing I envisioned as the big dreamer kid in my parent's care.
God has, as He did with all of us, given me a good portion of talent. I knew I wanted to do something with it...not have it waste away. I grew up in a home of hard workers. Your job is your life and everything else comes second or doesn't come at all. This is a great quality, but it needs to be used with great wisdom. You should work hard, but do it in the right order! Give in the right areas! Faithful in little, Faithful in MUCH!
If God comes first, Why don't you ever spend time with Him?
If you love your husband and family is important, Why are you never home?...And if you are home, do you spend quality time with them?
If children are one of God's greatest gifts (Psalm 127) Why are you not investing in them with your attention, time and example? Why are they only seen and not heard?
If you Put God first in your life, spend time with Him, His Heart becomes yours...and your eyes open to WHAT REALLY MATTERS.
When the wheels came off then and I hit rock bottom...which was only a matter of time...God brought me to this truth. You're giving in this area and it's burning you out, but it is not what I have in mind for you. Where is the talent I entrusted you with? But God...this little talent...You know I don't like the lime light...Why would you choose me to use this...it's only five loaves and two fish worth...I'll only be able to bless one or two people with this talent. What's the use?
Give what you've got and I will make it More.
Faithful in little, Faithful in Much.
You might think, like Gideon, God but I'm the least of my tribe...
then God will say, that's exactly why I chose you.
God uses the lowly things of this world, to confound the wise.
People won't say, "wow, that guy is so awesome, I always knew he'd be great."
No, They'll say: "God is so awesome, that guy isn't that great, not that popular, or socially acceptable and look how God is using him.
There has to be a God for this to happen..."
Be Thankful for what you have, even if it is little. Manage it correctly, in the right order. To the Glory of God. Walk in His ways. Put him first, spend quality time and invest in your marriage and in your children. Use that talent that God has entrusted you with, and watch Him bless you, and give you more in each of those areas. Do it in faith, don't give in to double-mindedness.
Get in, Get out or Get Run-Over. God is Alive and Well. Believe it.
LET NOTHING GO TO WASTE!
If you haven't seen the movie 'Moneyball' yet, do yourself a favor and rent it. It is based on a true story of a Coach who had the challenge of managing a baseball team with very little resources, money ect. 'I don't have enough' ...time, money....mentality, was not an option for this guy.
(If you would like to read more on this in Scripture, Read Luke Chapter 16:1-15 and be blessed)
From my heart to yours
