Welcome to NasieInspirasie!
The goal is to inspire through the seemingly little.
God saw a King in David when his brothers and family
saw a pip-squeeck, a nobody... God looks at the heart.
The word in James teaches us that
a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire!
NasieInspirasie is about bringing what you have,
bring what you have been given,
and keep the fire burning.
This month we have a special guest, Louise.
She is delving into and exploring the topic of God's Rest.
Be Blessed, Be Inspired!
Dear friend,
The Word of God is full of hidden treasures.
We must learn to understand the keys to give us a clear
understanding of the
Word of God. Proverbs 25:2 tells us:
It
is the glory of God to conceal a thing; but the
honor of kings is to search
out a matter.
Before we can go any further we have to
realize that every
Word in His Word has a special message and
that every word
has a ‘mother word’ from which it originates.
For example, the word David in Hebrew
means
‘beloved’ and Solomon means ‘intensive form of peace/rest’.
King David (beloved) had a very special
assignment
given to him by the Lord. He had to conquer many
heathen nations,
before his son Solomon (intensive form of peace/rest)
could take over his
reign. Some of these heathen nations
were the Philistines, the Jebusites,
Moabites, Syrians,
Edomites, Ammonites, Hittites and Amalekites.
Each of the
nations has a Hebrew meaning.
Let’s look at a few:
Word
|
Hebrew Meaning
|
Philistine
|
To roll (in
dust), to roll or wallow (self)
|
Jebusite
|
Trodden,
trample (literally and figuratively), be polluted
|
Moabite
|
Waste,
nothingness. Incestuous son
|
Syrian
|
To be elevated
|
Edomite
|
Red, ruddy,
(type of flesh)
|
Ammonite
|
Great people, strength, people as a congregated
unit, to overshadow
|
Hittite
|
Fear, dread
(terror)
|
Amalakite
|
People that
lick up or exhaust, strangler of people, (type of flesh)
|
Each of us has to conquer these heathen
nations (or natures) within us.
We have to conquer our own flesh nature, our
emotions (depression),
I, me and myself, our own opinions,
recognition from
others,
fear and many other heathen nations within us.
This is what the actual story of King David
tells us.
Only when we conquer these nations in full will we be able to be
“in
His rest’ and will the true intensive peace and rest reign in us.
Only then
will God give us rest from ‘all the enemies around us’.
1Kings 4:24 tell us this: For he (Solomon) had dominion over
all the region on this side the river,
from Tiphsaheven to Azzah,
over all the kings on this side the river:
and he
had peace on all sides round about him.
(Also see 1 Chron 22:9.)
We as the Lord’s beloved (David) bride must
grow
in maturity and experience the sceptre of His true peace/rest (Solomon’s
reign) in us.
We must set our hearts to be at peace in all circumstances
and we
must know that our most precious times will be at His feet.
Only when you step
and surrender into the finished work
in Christ Who is the true conqueror and overcomer,
only then can you go into His rest.
“As you give Me (Jesus) My rightful place
and do not
allow anything else to intrude,
you will be at peace with Me.’
