People like me, who run, can literally compare any situation in life with running and that's exactly what I'm going to do now.
I have tons of "motivational punch-lines", all just a little bit "kitsch". The best thing I can do is share a slice of my life with you.
It's like someone running. When my feet make contact with the ground I sometimes feel heavy in my flesh and the next moment, when I fly through the air, I feel weightless again in my soul.
Such is life. See, I'm a downhearted dreamer, I'm that person sitting in the office cubicle waiting for 5 o'clock. Here I weigh tons, everything is heavy. Not my body, but my soul.
I was not made for the office life. Yet, I stand up every day and come to work and do what I have to do. Not for me, but for my family and myself. It's hard, it's hard and it's bitter for me to think I'm going to live my one life like that. It makes me feel heavy!
But then I think again about my existence, my purpose and meaning in life. What do I want to do more than take care of my family? Be a good husband to my wife and a father to my son.
Maybe this is enough? I think so! It makes me weightless! I believe one day, in God's time, I will be in a position to live out a passion that puts bread on the table, but that day is not today.
We should not be discouraged. We are doing well when we live right and when we keep walking the way we are. For now, my heavy feet are standing in the gray forest on weekdays and on the weekends my soul is flying weightlessly in God's creation (outdoors/nature).
For me, life makes sense to know it's about running and not the finish line. As we run, we will feel very heavy and feather-light at times. Discover that something that makes you feel light and heavenly and do it as much as you can! For the rest of the heavy-road you keep your head up and be proud of yourself, because you are doing what needs to be done!
