Hello and Welcome dear readers,
a While ago I had a strong desire to go to the rubbish dump near our house and invite willing models along to be photographed in this smelly location! Initially the idea was: "No matter the circumstances, God can use it for your Good and for His Glory...He will give you Beauty for your Ashes".
To be completely honest, I just went for it (took photographs randomly) and trusted God with the details of the message. What unfolded was an inspirational, sometimes overlooked, story of Ruth and Naomi in the Bible...
Here we have a 4 chapter book in the bible, nestled in between the time of the Judges; Israel didn't have a king and "everyone did as they pleased".... and the Book of Samuel; with Kings in the making...
So if the Old Testament were to be a song, the book of Ruth would be the intimate and soulful "Bridge" of that song :)...joining the verse and chorus, making it interesting and giving it meaning.
It is a short and bitter-sweet testimony of not only the great loss of lives and loved ones, but also the restoration of those lives.
I read these chapters over and over a few times and what really hit me was all that Ruth decided to LEAVE BEHIND... her family, her comfort and more for an UNKNOWN and UNCERTAIN future with her Mother-in-law. Another thing is; how many women do you know would go this far for their mum in law?...
"And Ruth said, Urge me not to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go I will go, and where you lodge I will lodge. Your people shall be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there will I be buried. The Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts me from you." (Ruth 1:16-17 AMP)
When there was no obligation, contract, no promise or word to keep, Ruth made her raw decision...
This gives us some insight into her character...
Because she was so relentless in her decision - she had favor...
Her bold step of faith IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY!! opened hearts... and finally a new home and restored life.
This book is harsh in the loss that Naomi and her daughters suffered. Naomi losing not only her husband, but both of her sons... a tragedy...no other word.
rubbish circumstances
...ends in hope
This story has given me hope....
much love xxx
