Jodi Rutherford is a British teacher (McGrath) aspiring to be an actress. In her preparing for a role in a major film she approach Kobus Willemse (van Blerk) a boer from Brandfordt to help her preparing for this role as an Afrikaans war heroine. In return she needs to arrange and direct the annual concert on the Willemse farm.
This film was filled with cross culture humor and funny antics of the local community and main characters. Although the film’s story line was predictable the wonderful cast, excellent acting and the most beautiful scenes/ery overshadowed the predictable storyline and making it a big success. A very well written, funny and sassy dialog that keeps the audience enticed. I personally loved Burmilda van Rensburg’s character in the movie. Excellent music!
This movie (although not a Christian movie) made me think about our calling in life. On a more spiritual level sometimes what we think we want, isn’t always what we need and God’s plan for us. He knows best and He knows the growth we need.
This movie is rated PG. There are scenes that are not suitable for the younger audience (Although it’s not in bad taste).
This is a feel good movie!
A highly enjoyable film and highly recommended!
I JUST LOVE THIS MOVIE!
NS: This movie is a South African/ American collaboration and will be released in America in 2015. Hope you enjoy the South African humor.
Have a Blessed Festive Season!
