to resonate, to produce or to be filled with a deep, full, reverberating sound
Brianna is someone who has taken action when it comes to "living the dream". With a clear view and the right mindset, she aims to build creative communities through her journey and different seasons of life. Her goal was to write and record 10 songs in the space of 10 months with 10 different producers. Through hard work, late nights and the help of fundraising contributions, her goal became a reality! This project was filmed as a documentary which is available online and her album, VANITY, is also available on iTunes.
1. Please tell our readers more about yourself?
I am Singer-songwriter Brainna Gaither from Oklahoma in the USA
2. What are you passionate about?
Building community and bringing people and churches together.
4. What does being creative mean to you?
In Genesis 1:26 God says let us make mankind in our image, after our likeness. This means we all have creativity in us given by Him. Creativity could be someone showing hospitality. Being creative means that there is creativity in thought, expression and imagination. It is basically taking something and making it better than it was before.

3. What is the Resonate Campaign all about?
Resonate is a movement I started, it is a community that supports and encourages believing artists. I wanted to craft a project that would ask the question, what would I do if I could do anything with God fully backing me up? Creativity is not just for the artistic loner although there is also space for that, but for creatives to come together and be creative together in their communities.

5. Is music something you have always wanted to be involved in?
Yes, I started writing songs from a young age and it was also encouraged in our home. Songwriting is something that comes very naturally to me.
6. How can people from South Africa get involved or follow what Resonate is doing?
The best would be to subscribe to Resonate through email. Also find us on the Youversion Bible Plan: Resonate: a Musical documentary On God and Creativity
7. Do you have a favorite track on your new album, VANITY (available on iTunes) and why?
Yes, I have a soft spot for all the songs, but especially the seventh track on the album, Seven days after Hello. I had the melody for a while, but no lyrics. After I met one of the producers who worked on my album the lyrics came flowing out of me. We went on our first date after seven days and were engaged shortly after. I recorded this song in secret, which was not an easy job because he was so involved in the making of the album. I then played the song to him about 3 weeks before our wedding. This was also the song we danced to at our wedding so it is very special to me.

8. How would you encourage readers to remain faithful and steward what they have been given, even though it might be a little or a lot? God is faithful and honors faithfulness. He is our audience. He is refining us for the next step in our lives. It has a lot to do with the refining of one’s mindset to an eternal mindset, character and leadership. For example, if someone had to win the lottery, someone that never had a lot of money before, the money would not last long because the character of that person would not be developed far enough to remain faithful with it.
It is also important not to believe we are a victim of our circumstances. Make the choice to follow your dreams. I worked nights and weekends for awhile, but it paid off. I do what I love doing now, full time.
9. What inspires your music?
Honest life experiences, I find it difficult to just write anything for the sake of writing.
