When God Calls you to GO.

This time of year we can sit back and reflect on the time passed,  all we have lost and gained during 2012... What a year it has been for me and my family.  We have had the most joyous experiences, but also a few heartbreaking ones...and as the saying goes: it's not what happens to you, but how you handle what happens to you... I might not know you by name or know your situation but the message of grace is for everyone. My message to you for the time ahead is this: God is a God of love and restoration; if you have Him, you have everything. Give Him your ashes: your broken heart; broken dreams;  He has graciously given you His beauty and Restoration through His Son, Jesus. This Month NasieInspirasie had an interview with  a South African couple who are missionaries  in the Middle East. Their testimony has just reminded me to be thankful at ALL times,  especially because of all that they have given  up to be used by God in this way. Due

"Small Beginnings and a Great, Big God..."

Hello Beloved Readers, Welcome to November's NasieInspirasie! (Inspiration for all Nations!) Thank you to all the readers who gave feedback;  to those who were blessed by Willie (The Fudge Man's story) last month.  Many more blessings to come!  God uses ordinary people; you and me to do extraordinary things!  This brings me to the extraordinary life and times of  Canticle Coffee and Music Lounge Owner, Liezl Hobbs. I was so inspired by her life changing story  and believe this one will hit the spot for you to! Her story is one of courage and determination,  God's faithfulness and about the dream God has entrusted her with.  Liezl Hobbs THE INTERVIEW 1. Tell us a bit more about yourself. I was born, went to school and spent most of my life in the Kalahari. After school I joined a Performing Christian Dance and Drama group traveling South Africa. Our main focus was to take the ARTS back for God. This has been a dream for me still today

Here we go!!!!! - Willie the Fudge Man

I have decided to take it a little further and meet 'the man on the street', doing interviews with different people in my community on the principle as discussed in Luke 16:10 Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones; whoever is dishonest in small matters will be dishonest in large ones Having in mind that the little boy who brought only 2 fish and 5 loaves brought enough for Jesus to feed THOUSANDS through his little contribution ... I believe that God is saying; Why are you holding back? Is it because you think, by your own estimate and the negative influences and people around you... that you are inadequate? Give what you've got to God and He will make it MORE! He made you, He knows what for so you are free to take the first step, trusting Him. So here goes... My first interview was with a man on the street, on Zambezi drive (Sefako Makgato drive) in the Montana area. He has and will inspire many. His name is Willie and he

Celebrate the 80's!!!!! Happy Birthday to Me!

Waterproof Principle 30 - This is just the beginning

"The Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge (the beginning of Wisdom), But fools despise wisdom and discipline." Prov 1:7 Fearing the Lord is a healthy respect for Him. Be sensitive to what He requires... I am talking about Relationship with the Spirit of God, not religion.  If you LOVE Me, You will OBEY Me...He says. You just don't wake up one day and Love Him. You Hear His Voice and you respond. This is a continual walk. This is the whole 'enchilada' of honest Christianity. You don't have to be in a church to experience God. He is Everywhere. The Fear of man often leads us into the low areas of life. Fear of disappointing people.  Fear of failure...Fear of confrontation. You are Wise, if you make a choice rooted in:  Pleasing and Obeying God. Even if it means, losing a few people around you. You will always be rewarded for that choice. He gives Beauty for Ashes... Many a time I have brought m

Waterproof Principle 29 - Honor Your Parents

"Listen to your Father, who gave you life,  and don't despise your Mother  when she is old." Prov.23:22 Dear Readers, We are nearing the end of our adventure of the 30 Waterproof Principles -  On the 8th of September, which is only a few hours away,  I will be 30!!! My Parents I was a surprise to my parents...Last-born and youngest of four. When my parents were my age, they already had four children. What a big responsibility... I would like to use this moment to honor them. My Wonderful Father, a man of God, a Father who has laughed with me, cried with me and held me during the toughest times of my life. He has brought music into our house (although we differ on taste at times, rhythm remains!) He is a man full of faith, one I am proud of. Adventure Mom! She lives by the words: "Life is an Adventure." The Adventure? swing from trees, get cuts and bruises, cry a little, laugh a lot and live the life before you. Taught me to st

Waterproof Principle 28 - "Leaving a Legacy"

You must not follow  the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice. Exodus 23:2 you might find yourself in a particular situation...one where you will have to choose, and it might cost you something or even someone dear. It might cost you your reputation, a dear friend, who can't seem to agree with your life choices and the direction you have decided to take....... or even that promotion at work. It might cost you the most loved to you. He is worth it. There is a song by the Irish Band, The Rend Collective experiment: 'THE COST'. "I've counted up the cost and You are worth it..." http://youtu.be/cprV3TZet0g When you are counting up the cost, also remember those who come after you. Who might want to stand for the same reasons you are standing. If you've made your stand, the one after you won't have to stand as strong. He or she can stand a

Waterproof Principle 27 - The Ugly Wife; the Truth

"...Never make a  pretty woman (the lie) your wife." Truth , light as a feather... outweighs every lie. Shadows,  heavy with fear and uncertainty, dragging led feet. You thought, you think you did, you acted. Invited. Truth knows you. But you sit  at that table there  dressed in lies and deceit. Plastic and wind is all you will get to eat. Come to My table won't cost you a thing. paying with lies? Come naked, I'll give you a drink. I'll fill up your stomach  We'll talk, laugh and cry  When you leave here, You won't want to ... You'll be Dressed in My Light. iskra

Waterproof Principle 26 - "Will the Real OAK pls STAND"

"The God of heaven will help us succeed. We, his servants, will start rebuilding this wall....." Nehemiah 2:20 Welcome to the 26th Waterproof Principle. For those of you who are new to the blog I have been writing on and exploring 30 Waterproof, Basic Christian, Life Principles in Thankfulness to the Living God of the Bible, for my almost 30 years of life...(birthday coming up soon!).  You don't have to be a Christian to appreciate or be changed by it -  But in Light of the Truth unveiled to me and the miracles I have witnessed, I have made my choice and am allowing the Truth to change me. So what I'm actually saying is....'Welcome!' THE WALL When I was considering a quote to explain this principle, I thought of this famous one: "If You Don't Stand For Anything You will Fall For Everything." I don't know who the person is who said it, so of course I went to  'google-it'...I then came accross the intere

Waterproof Principle 25 - Your Relfection

There he went into a cave to spend the night. Suddenly the LORD spoke to him,  "Elijah, what are you doing here?"      1Kings 19:9-13  One day at our church the pastor spoke to us about knowing  who you are in Christ and he showed us this picture... The Mirror is the Truth (Jesus)  Although people around you might see you as a 'loser', because of what Jesus has done for us ... He sees the Lion in you. Walking in Victory; you need to learn to see yourself the way He sees you. a Overcomer, a new creation, fearfully and wonderfully made.    If you listen to the word, but do not put it into practice you  are like people who look in a mirror and see themselves as they are.   They take a good look at themselves and then go away and at once forget what they look like .   But if you look closely into the perfect law that sets people free, and keep on paying attention to it and do not simply listen and then forget it, but put it into

Waterproof Principle 24 - "Little did he know..."

Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.   Pro 3:5  Hi There Everyone! Loyal Readers, family members, twitter friends! Sabine! Thank you for reading my thoughts, feelings and discoveries. Exploring 30 Waterproof Life Principles to celebrate my 30 Birthday this year in Thankfulness and Worship to Abba Father, the God of the Bible!  I pray that He touches your heart like He did mine and deeper, through these prayers and principles!!!  God bless you. "Little did he know..." was that concept I enjoyed in the movie: 'Stranger than fiction' with Will Farrell, Emma Thompson and others. Particularly where Dustin Hoffman explains how many writers use the phrase "Little did he know..." referring to people/characters who basically didn't see it coming! So it is for us also throughout our life stories. We cannot RELY or trust on our own reasoning. We don't see the whole picture, to us it looks like br

Waterproof Principle 23 - Love Never Fails

It is that simple. Unconditional Love does not grow cold or become stagnant...but moves beyond that point...not out of duty or obligations, but because we want to... I think of that movie with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn, Break-up, where she begs him to get lemons for her table center-piece and at one point she says, "I want you to want to do it..." (otherwise you shouldn't do it). And Vince Vaughn's character is so preoccupied with his games and sports, completely insensitive to the relationship, that he opens a door for it to take a turn for the worst... If we are not moving ahead...if we are staying in the shallow waters, will we ever reach all that God has planned for our lives? What keeps us away is the cost... "If she wants me to buy lemons now, that means I have to get up from my comfortable spot off the couch and give up my game, watching my sport, for a few lemons..." in short...the cost

Waterproof Principle 22 - "Nothing is Enough"

"if you cling to your life you will lose it ; but if you GIVE UP your life for Me , you will find it."  Matthew 10:39 I have been thinking about the small things in my life, which when added together make up the big picture... the dream that dream that you have, when you reach the end of your days you can look back and say; "I'm so glad I was able to do it like this or like that. That's what I was going for! Now I have no regrets..." When the Big Picture doesn't quite play out, in frustration I start fighting the 'smalls of life' (situations, circumstances, relationships and the people) hoping it will build the dream... Sometimes our Dreams are really big. Reality compared to the situation we are in can seem unattainable. But our Father, who loves us, says: "Don't be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude (this big unattainable dream that you are fighting for), FOR THE BATTLE IS NOT YOURS, but God'

Waterproof Principle 21 - "Poor Me, myself and I"

"Not Everything is about YOU..." "I was a stranger, and you didn't invite me into your home.  I was naked and you didn't give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn't visit me." Matt.25:43 God turns events, trauma and unplanned and broken situations into great, healthy and whole ones if we follow Him (Romans 8:28 "God causes EVERYTHING to work together for the GOOD of those who LOVE GOD and are called according to His purpose for them.") In light of recent events; the loss of my friend RenĂ© and our recent visit to one of the poorest countries in the world, Mozambique, I realized that The 'let nothing go to waste' concept is even more applicable...makes more sense...We have eternity in our hearts. We are rich beyond thought. The God who created the universe, who created the tiny lady bug...is the same God who longs to have a personal relationship with you.      teeny, weeny, tiny, little you... I rem
