Waterproof - Principle 12

"Dear brothers and sisters, 

when trouble comes your way,

consider it an opportunity for great joy.

For you know that when your 

faith is tested, your endurance

has a chance to grow." James 1:2,3

Did Jesus ever promise us rosy circumstances?

When you become a christian  you'll wake up to a rainbow each

morning, with everyone's warm smiles greeting you.

Your children will always be clean, healthy..the white fence and all that...

Like the slogan on my pajamas says: "Wakey, wakey, tea and cakey..."

Last night I watched a film, a testimony of a Muslim gentleman in Africa.

He was a strong Muslim and spiritual leader in his village.

He went to sleep one night and Jesus appeared to him in a dream. 

Jesus told him He loved him. He showed him that he wanted him to read the Bible, 

The word of God.

He also said, No one can come to the Father except through me.

He had numerous dreams after this and consequently decided to accept Jesus.

After he had made this choice he suffered various trials.

His own father disowned him publicly and also poisoned him, tried to kill him

on various occasions, but each time God made a way for him.

He suffered rejection from his own father, his own people.

In the end, because he stood strong, his father called for him

when he was sick in the hospital. He asked his son to forgive him

and his son said, I have already forgiven you because this is what my

God teaches me to do and then his led his father

into the kingdom of God and his father accepted  Jesus

also as his Lord and Savior.

This man stood strong throughout this process and reaped

a harvest at the end. Endurance and

loooooooongsuffering!

The parable of the Protea Flower

(from the south african christian magazine, My World)

 was revealed  to me by The Great I am when my firstborn

came into this life. She was very close to death, she

went through fire and so did we as her parents.

Let me tell you,

 it was most difficult for us, but God was always there with us.

And today she is running around and playing, bringing so

much joy and life into our home.

a Protea Flower only starts to germinate

after it has burned. Then the Flower...

"WHEN YOU GO THROUGH

DEEP WATERS, 

I WILL BE WITH YOU.

WHEN YOU GO THROUGH RIVERS

OF DIFFICULTY, 

YOU WILL

NOT DROWN.

WHEN YOU WALK 

THROUGH THE FIRE,

YOU WILL NOT BE BURNED UP,

THE FLAMES WILL NOT CONSUME YOU."

Isaiah 43:2

Take heart, Jesus has overcome.....
